Past performance is the best way to determine and predict how good a person will be in joining your learning community.  There are no short cuts to a good hire.  We must go beyond resumes’ and letters of recommendations to do a good scouting report.  Digging deep with phone calls of references along with contacting people who SHOULD be references is just part of the due diligence that needs to take place.  Like a great apple pie, you need good apples!  The same holds true for building a great learning community, you have to hire GREAT PEOPLE.
